Cannon Beach, Wilsonville, Wenatchee

Dear Prayer Team,

We have had some very exciting weeks of ministry in the last month! We spent a wonderful week (August 18-15) at Cannon Beach with the great folks there, where my family and I got to spend some really good time with some of our faithful prayer team members from the Santa Cruz, CA area. It was a very relaxing week this year and my kids had a great time as always. It's kind of become our family's summer vacation and since RESCUE has a solid amount of songs to spread out over the entire week, we didn't have to spend much time in rehearsals as a group, which allowed us all a lot more time to relax and have fun.

Dr. Ray Pritchard spoke all week from the book of Judges about Samson and what it says about God's grace that while he was a less than stellar character he is still mentioned in Hebrews 11:32 in the Bible's "Hall of Faith". It is at once a great mystery and a great source of joy: God uses flawed people like you and me to do his work! As my best friend Joe says, "That'll preach!" Ray did a great job communicating this wonderful truth to all of us in attendance.

The day after we got home (August 20) we did a mini-concert at Riverside Foursquare in Wilsonville, OR. They are a young church that is meeting in the Wilsonville High School auditorium. We had a great time worshiping with them and enjoying the Word! August 29-Sept 3 was our blocked out time for all of us to have our individual family vacations this year. I know that some of us were able to take advantage of that time to go see family in other parts of the country.

Last Saturday we drove about 6 hours to Wenatchee, WA, got our equipment set up at the Wenatchee Free Methodist church and went to our host homes. Over had to do some editing on the newest tracks for the CD, but I was able to spend some time playing a game called "Hand and Foot" (it's like Canasta) with our host, Darrell and some of his friends. I was terrible at the game and they were very patient with me. Sweet people!!!

Brandon and I were pretty sick all week and then Over started feeling some sickness in his throat too, but God allowed us to have a good concert and the great people of WFMC were extremely warm and welcoming. It was wonderful to connect again with the Krober's. This is the church where Chad Krober, one of RESCUE's original members grew up. When we sang there years ago, his father was the main pastor, but is now the executive pastor. It was a lot of fun and God truly blessed our time with this wonderful congregation.

We are continually blessed by the people we meet as we travel locally and throughout the nation.
