Mt Hood, Montavilla, Warner Pacific, Gresham

Dear Prayer Team,

I cannot believe that September is already over! We’ve been busy recording, singing concerts and sharing Christ through this ministry as much as we can. It is truly a joy to be able to do what we do and we know that it is through your support and prayer for God’s presence amidst the challenges we face that we can continue.

On Saturday, September 15th we went to the beautiful Mt. Hood area (Welches, OR) for a concert at the “Spirit on the Mountain” event held annually at Mt. Hood Village Resort. We had an outstanding crowd of RESCUE supporters there and we had an absolute blast singing for them. We hope to be a part of this event for years to come as they bring together area churches in a spirit of Christian unity!

The next day, Sunday, September 16th ,we went to Montavilla Baptist Church (Portland, OR). I had been sick and was not feeling well vocally but God allowed us to make it through the concert without too many problems. There were many friends, family and prayer team members at this concert. This amazing congregation blessed us in a big way and we are overwhelmed with the love that we felt from them!

On Saturday, September 22nd We had a concert at Warner Pacific College (Portland, OR). This was a concert in their round auditorium. It is quite a beautiful place to sing and the audience of families from the community and college students was attentive and appreciative. I saw many young people with stunned looks on their faces during Brandon’s percussion demonstration. I had many talk with me afterwards offering support of the thrust and message of our concert. It was very encouraging!

We set up our system the night before and the on Sunday morning, September 30th at Gresham First Baptist Church (Portland, OR) we shared 50 minute concerts in two of their services. This is another one of our core churches that have supported this ministry for many years and the concert was in commemoration of 125 years as a church! Incredible! Vocally, I was finally back to feeling 100% after being sick for about three weeks. After our last song, the Pastor came up and as he expressed his appreciation of RESCUE he was getting a bit choked up, which had me choking up too. It was very sweet to see that this congregation was encouraged by our time with them.

Isn’t it funny that the only way to have our hearts filled with the kind of brotherly love that the Bible speaks of, we must first open our hearts to others. We are so glad to open our hearts to the people we have the privilege of singing for and we are always touched by the love that is returned, in abundance.
